Why Vitamin Infusion Therapy?

We are very excited to be introducing the Intravenous drip therapy to Trinity Dental.

You may think why? Why not just recommend an oral nutritional supplement?

Since learning about IV Drips and the benefits I am happy to tell you why.

IV drip therapy is an effective way to deliver nutrients and vitamins to the body. IV drip therapy works with the circulatory system which means this is administered directly into the blood stream.

Being administered into the bloodstream means these bypass the digestive system which itself expends energy to metabolise supplements significantly reducing the amount of vitamins and nutrients that actually enter the bloodstream with normal oral supplements.

IV drip therapy ensures 100% absorption for maximum effect and minimum waste.

Have you asked yourself the following questions?

  • Have you recently been unwell and feel like your immune system is low?
  • Do you feel like your metabolism could do with a boost?
  • Do you feel tired and lacking in energy?
  • Do you feel stressed and burnt out?
  • Do you have an active lifestyle and feel you require more fuel for athletic performance?

There are various IV Drips that offer different results and target what your body needs the most.

Sharne’s ZO Skin Health and Stimulator Peel Experience

Here I am again, new day new treatment! What a lucky girl!

On Tuesday I experienced my first ever facial peel. As you may have seen through recent posts we have been very excited about the ZO skin health system which is by Dr Zein Obaji whose philosophy is to create and maintain healthy skin for life.

Since my teenage years I have always been interested in skin care and make up and have always dipped in to different skincare systems from Clarins, Dermalogica, Elemis and often mixed the systems never sticking to a solid routine.

When ZO was first introduced to the clinic I was given the daily skincare programme which I loved! It was great as this gives you all the products you need to begin your new routine, you have in this the exfoliating cleanser, exfoliating polish (My personal favourite!), complexion renewal pads and the daily power defence. This is all you need to start your skin care journey and after just two days I noticed such a difference in my skin, it felt smooth, fresh and my make up sat so much nicer on the skin as opposed to patchiness or uneven tones.

This Tuesday I then was given the opportunity to have a stimulator peel by Liza, our new Well-Being Assistant.

First of all, Liza removed my make up whilst looking at my skin and discussed the areas that concern me the most and my skincare history. For me areas of concern are my chin as I tend to get clogged pores and breakouts and dark circles under my eyes. I felt completely at ease and it was lovely to talk about my skin and not feel conscious. Liza explained the chin area seems to be hormonal and the circles are hereditary but both can be made better reduced and helped with a solid routine. After my make-up was removed I then had the facial which was a variety of cleansers and exfoliators to prep the skin.

Next came the peel, this was applied in two stages and although this started to tingle it was not uncomfortable or painful in any way. Liza was great in ensuring I was comfortable at all times and was great in explaining what I was likely to experience with the treatment.

Once the peel had been applied the second time this was removed and a mask placed on, this felt lovely and soothing and a perfect finish to the peel.

The entire treatment was very relaxing, enjoyable and my skin was left feeling incredible.

I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone and I can’t wait to continue with a great new skin care programme.

Until next time…

ZO Skin Health – The Fundamental 5

As you may have seen on our recent social media posts Trinity Dental now stock the ZO Skin Health range.

ZO Skin Health was started by Dr Zein Obaji who is a world-renowned skincare expert. He was the first to conceive new skin as science and used this alongside being a certified dermatologist and award-winning inventor to come up with a range dedicated to maintaining skin health.

The ZO Skin Health range is prescribed to suit you personally. Any one starting the ZO journey are recommended to begin with the fundamental 5.

The fundamental 5 products are designed to wash, scrub, control oil, stimulate and protect.

Starting with these five easy steps leaves you with healthier, younger looking skin.

  1. Wash: Offects® Exfoliating Cleanser

This cleanser and exfoliant combination targets oil, dirt and bacteria in the skin leaving it deeply cleansed, without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

  1. Scrub: Offects® Exfoliating Polish

This exfoliant instantly polishes skin to restore a smoother texture and deliver healthy glowing skin.

  1. Oil-Control: Offects® TE-Pads™

A dual-chemical exfoliation removes dead skin cells to prevent clogged pores and help decrease a potential acne breakout.

  1. Balance: Ossential® Daily Power Defense™

Formulated with retinol, enzymes and antioxidants, this skin restorer helps to stabilise skin by repairing damaged cells and protecting skin against future damage.

Protect: Oclipse® Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30

A broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF that uses a multiple-defense sun protection system to provides full-spectrum defence against UV rays in addition to shielding skin from the ageing effects of HEV light (high-energy visible light).

Cosmetic Bonding – Another option?

Dental bonding can also be used as a purely cosmetic procedure to change the way your smile looks. For example, if you have a tooth that is smaller than the others, dental bonding can be used to make it bigger. If you have gaps between your teeth but don’t want to invest in braces, material can be added to widen your teeth slightly so the gap is reduced. Dental bonding can also be used to lengthen teeth that look too short or are not even with your other teeth.

Cosmetic Bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-coloured resin material is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve person’s smile.

Cosmetic bonding is sometimes factored in to a treatment plan following orthodontic treatment as once the teeth align in a straight line gaps may appear between the teeth, sometimes referred to as black triangles, and these can be closed with bonding.
Because there are some limitations to the restorative impacts that bonding can have, some clinicians may view it as best suited for small cosmetic changes, for temporary correction of cosmetic defects, and for correction of teeth in areas of very low bite pressure (for example, front teeth).

Oral Cancer – Be in the know!

Oral cancer is one of the most unrecognised cancers that can be caught and treated if the symptoms are recognised at the early stages.

The statistics for this are shocking. Since 2013 there has been 7591 new cases detected and from 2012 there has been a saddening 2119 deaths from this.

Here at Trinity Dental we are passionate about our patients and screening for oral cancer is vital. Whether you book for an examination or a hygiene treatment the clinician will carry out the screening and eliminate all possibilities.

Oral cancer can be a result of many causes and can be prevented through certain life style changes,

  • Smoking. Mouth cancer is just one cancer which has a much higher incidence in smokers than in non-smokers
  • Alcohol. Drinking a lot of alcohol can increase your risk of developing mouth cancer
  • Chewing tobacco or the betal leaf
  • Poor dental hygiene
  • Dietary factors (eating a well-balanced diet – high in fruits, vegetables and fish and low in high-fat and cholesterol meats, rice and refined grains – can reduce the risk of oral cancer)

The signs and symptoms of oral cancer are not always apparent and these need to be checked by a professional if you have any doubts!

  • White patches anywhere in your mouth (leukoplakia)
  • Red patches anywhere in your mouth (erythroplakia)
  • A lump on the lip, tongue or in the mouth or throat
  • Unusual bleeding or numbness in the mouth
  • Pain when chewing or swallowing
  • A feeling that something is caught in the throat
  • Unusual bleeding or numbness in the mouth
  • Loose teeth or dentures feeling uncomfortable and not fitting properly
  • A change in your voice, or speech problems
  • Weight loss
  • A lump in the neck
  • If the cancer spreads to other parts of the body, various other symptoms can develop

Sadly, this life threatening disease is on the rise.

Help us to fight back and lower these statistics for the future!

Black Triangles – Be gone!

Smile with Black Triangles

Black triangles between our teeth are very common due to the advanced treatments we can now undertake and fortunately they are easily rectified.

Black triangles are a result from either previous gum disease and loss of the papilla (the gum in between), poorly fitting dental work, trauma to the gum or our anatomy and the position of our teeth. Black triangles can also appear following orthodontic work where the teeth align into a straight position.

Although they may cause concern cosmetically they can also affect our oral health. Creating a gap allows for food and debris to gather and as much as we dread getting herbs or food stuck in our teeth on a first date or during a work lunch it can also lead to gum inflammation which can ultimately follow on to produce bone loss.

At Trinity Dental we offer composite bonding treatment which can help to eliminate these black triangles and create a smile that you are proud of.

During this procedure a clear matrix is placed around the tooth and then your clinician will apply a specially made composite to build the tooth and create the desired shape.

Isn’t it amazing what can be achieved! Contact us for further information or to book in today.

Teeth Bonding

You say “Tomato”, I say “Tomato”

Wrinkly TomsRipe Toms

Tomatoes once ripe have smooth plump skin and this is similar to our own skin similarly like tomatoes over time the skin loses its elasticity leaving the face with more wrinkles, the tissue in the face sags and can also create facial hollows.
Facial fillers are designed to eliminate these extremities and create a youthful image that still appears natural.
The filler is injected into the area discussed with your clinician and instantly plumps and hydrates the skin without disrupting the natural contours of the face.
Once you have your new refreshed look the fillers will last for approximately 6 – 12 months and may need to be repeated to maintain the youthful look.

Book a consultation with us at Trinity Dental to see how we can help to rejuvenate your skin.
As well as fillers there is PRP Therapy and Wrinkle Reducing Injections.
See our ‘Services’ section for further information.

Headaches? You Don’t Have to Suffer!

Man with headache

88 % of women and 69% of men suffer with tension headaches at some point in their lifetime.
The common causes of tension headaches can be stress, neck or back pain due to poor posture or eyestrain. These headaches can be very uncomfortable and difficult to eliminate.
Scientific studies have proven that Botox® relives chronic migraines and tension headaches. This was noticed when many people having treatment for wrinkles noticed a large decrease in their headaches and this resulted in 2010 that the FDA approved Botox® for the treatment of headaches.
The injections take approximately ten minutes to carry out and last on average 3 months.

So why would this treatment work?
The Botox® injections relax the muscle around the head and this has a knock on effect by decreasing the blood pressure within the brain.
The relaxing of the muscle also reduces the nerves ability in the head to send pain signals triggering the headache that we all dread having.
Whether it is a tough day at work, a family function you’re dreading or the stress of planning that children’s birthday party don’t let your headache hold you back.
