Frequently Asked Questions

Every patient is different, and we would need to look at your skin type, condition and understand your goals before giving a personal recommendation. On average, most patients throughout Northamptonshire have a HydraFacial every month.
At Trinity Dental in Rothwell, our experienced and knowledgeable practitioners will meet with you and give recommendations for which treatments would be best for you based on your skin type, condition of your skin and based on your personal goals.
No. None of the treatments will give you any pain. Most of the cosmetic dental treatments are completely non-invasive with no need for injections or drills. Only dental implants will require you to have a local anaesthetic which serves to numb your mouth so that you won’t feel any pain during the treatment.
Yes. In fact, most of the treatments will not only give you a lovely new smile, but they will help to prolong the health of your teeth in the long term. Replacing missing teeth with dental implants ensures that the adjacent teeth remain strong and healthy and prevents your face from sagging and looking older.Porcelain veneers and composite bonding help to strengthen the tooth and give added protection. Teeth straightening ensures teeth are easier to keep clean and free from plaque, plus it prevents crooked teeth from loosening.
PRP therapy is suitable for most people, but we will need to check your general health first. If you have a blood clotting disorder, you will not be able to have this treatment. Patients who do not smoke and who are in good general health will see better results with this treatment.
At your first consultation we will assess your teeth and talk through the benefits of SureSmile aligners. Most adults are suitable for teeth straightening with SureSmile.
Yes. Teeth whitening is safe when it is carried out and is overseen by a dental professional. Problems with teeth whitening occur when patients try to whiten teeth themselves using kits found online or in shops.
We recommend that teeth whitening is suitable for adults and not children. We would advise pregnant and lactating women to wait to have their teeth whitened. Patients who have dental restorations such as crowns, dental implants or veneers should be aware that teeth whitening will only work on natural teeth and not on restorations.
You should only go to hospital if you have suffered an accident or trauma to your face or mouth which requires treatment for bleeding or deep wounds. Any other pain relating to your mouth, teeth or gums can be dealt with by an emergency dentist.
Any side effects tend to be mild and not last long. The most common is mild bruising or redness to the site of the injection. Some patients may experience headaches, but these usually ease within 24 hours. Your practitioner can talk to you more about side effects at your consultation.
Botulinum Toxin injections for hyperhidrosis has been used for many years and the risks are minimal. If there are any side effects, some patients experience redness or slight bruising to the site of the injection, but this should wear off quickly.
You should maintain a good oral hygiene. Make sure you brush your teeth thoroughly twice a day and floss daily. You should stop smoking as this will severely affect the success of your dental implants. Be sure to regularly see your dentist and hygienist at Trinity Dental in Rothwell.
This will be discussed at your consultation, but we recommend not over heating or freezing the treated area. Avoid hot baths or saunas for the first two days. You should also avoid consuming alcohol for the first few days after your procedure.
  • Only pick the tooth up by the crown (the white, top section).
  • Avoid touching the root.
  • If the tooth is dirty, rinse it for no more than 10 seconds under cold, running water.
  • Put the tooth back in the socket if possible. Bite down on a piece of clean material to keep it in place. If you can’t put it back in the socket, keep the tooth in your mouth between your cheeks and teeth, or place it in a container and cover it with milk.

You may also notice toothache more at night because you are less distracted by work and the busyness of the day. Finally, some people grind their teeth at night, and this can enhance the pain if you’re suffering with toothache.
