What are facial peels in Northamptonshire?
Facial peels sometimes known as chemical peels or skin peels, rejuvenate skin to give a more youthful appearance.
As their name suggests, the treatment involves a solution being applied to the face, neck or hands. This gently removes the top layer of old skin to leave a radiant complexion.
As well as rejuvenating dull, tired skin, facial peels will also treat:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Freckles
- Certain types of acne
- Age spots
- Skin damaged by the sun
- Dark patches
Facial Peels are gentle on your skin
Patients from Rothwell, Loddington, Kettering, Thorpe Underwood, Rushton, Glendon and throughout Northamptonshire sometimes think that a facial peel sounds like a harsh or aggressive treatment.
When carried out by a qualified practitioner, chemical peels work gently on your skin. There are also different skin peels with different strengths. At Trinity Dental in Rothwell, we can establish which is the correct facial peel for you.
Mild facial peels are the gentlest way to rejuvenate the skin and are effective at treating fine wrinkles. They work by removing the top layer of skin called the epidermis, to show healthy skin below. repeated in one-to-four-week intervals until the desired effect is achieved.
The process begins with lymphatic drainage that helps to eliminate toxins.
Medium chemical peels remove skin from the outer layer and from parts of the middle layer called the dermis. This skin peel will often be used to treat acne scars and uneven skin tone. You may need to repeat treatment every 6 to 12 months.
Deep facial peels penetrate the skin even deeper to give stronger results. They might be used to treat scars and wrinkles. Repeat treatments are mostly not needed with deep chemical peels.
What are facial peels in Northamptonshire?
On the day of your treatment, a chemical solution will be brushed over your skin. The acids within the facial peel bring the PH level of your skin to an optimum acidity level. This chemical action loosens the “glue” which binds the dead and damaged cells causing exfoliation.
Your skin will start to peel about 48 to 72 hours after treatment and can last a few days. Peeling is minimal and can be controlled with moisturisers. The new skin underneath looks healthy and radiant.
