FAQs

Yes we do sell boutique whitening gel to patients who have had whitening treatments with us before, as we would be to prescribe it.
It’s a good idea to get teeth whitened as well as having veneers to give you stunning new smile. We recommend having your teeth whitened first and then having porcelain veneers fitted because teeth whitening treatments do not work on veneers.
No, it should not hurt to get porcelain veneers because the procedure is minimally invasive. If you are having many teeth treated with veneers, your mouth may feel a little sore straight after having the treatment, but this should not last long.
With good care, porcelain veneers should last between 10 and 15 years. You can help to prolong the life of your porcelain veneers by maintaining a good oral hygiene – brushing at least twice a day, flossing and seeing your dentist and hygienist regularly. You should not smoke and avoid biting on hard objects such as pen lids.
Hyperhidrosis injections are suitable for most people. We will not treat pregnant or breastfeeding ladies. We also will not treat patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients used in Botox® and we will not go ahead with treatment if there are any signs of infection at the place to be treated.
Botulinum Toxin injections for hyperhidrosis has been used for many years and the risks are minimal. If there are any side effects, some patients experience redness or slight bruising to the site of the injection, but this should wear off quickly.
No, using the hyperhidrosis injections to reduce sweating in a few areas will not affect your body’s ability to cool down. Neither will it mean that other parts of your body will sweat more.
Any side effects tend to be mild and not last long. The most common is mild bruising or redness to the site of the injection. Some patients may experience headaches, but these usually ease within 24 hours. Your practitioner can talk to you more about side effects at your consultation.
Results from anti-wrinkle injections last between 3 and 4 months. It’s a good idea to repeat treatment to maintain the effects, but it’s important to have at least 3 months off between treatments.
Yes. Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for over 40 years. Treatment is safe when it is administered by a trained medical practitioner who has completed the appropriate training. Anti-wrinkle injections are non-surgical, and the risks are extremely minimal.
There are few side effects with PRP therapy because the injections contain plasma from your own blood. Some patients may notice redness and soreness to the skin, but this is due to the injection rather than the treatment itself.
PRP therapy is suitable for most people, but we will need to check your general health first. If you have a blood clotting disorder, you will not be able to have this treatment. Patients who do not smoke and who are in good general health will see better results with this treatment.
This will be discussed at your consultation, but we recommend not over heating or freezing the treated area. Avoid hot baths or saunas for the first two days. You should also avoid consuming alcohol for the first few days after your procedure.
HydraFacial is a gentle treatment with no downtime and so it is considered safe for practically everyone. We will check your skin type at Trinity Dental before you have a HydraFacial. Occasionally if you have a particular skin condition or your skin is irritated, we may recommend not having a HydraFacial, but this is rare.
On average, a HydraFacial takes about 30 minutes and since there is no recovery period, you can return to work with glowing skin straight after treatment.
Every patient is different, and we would need to look at your skin type, condition and understand your goals before giving a personal recommendation. On average, most patients throughout Northamptonshire have a HydraFacial every month.

Lips are a sensitive part of the body and for this reason some patients worry that lip enhancements will hurt. You will feel a scratch from the injection, but you should not experience any other pain.
Every patient is different and will depend upon your body’s metabolism. On average, lip filler injections will last between 6 and 12 months.

Yes. Teeth whitening is safe when it is carried out and is overseen by a dental professional. Problems with teeth whitening occur when patients try to whiten teeth themselves using kits found online or in shops.
Yes. In fact, most of the treatments will not only give you a lovely new smile, but they will help to prolong the health of your teeth in the long term. Replacing missing teeth with dental implants ensures that the adjacent teeth remain strong and healthy and prevents your face from sagging and looking older.Porcelain veneers and composite bonding help to strengthen the tooth and give added protection. Teeth straightening ensures teeth are easier to keep clean and free from plaque, plus it prevents crooked teeth from loosening.
No. None of the treatments will give you any pain. Most of the cosmetic dental treatments are completely non-invasive with no need for injections or drills. Only dental implants will require you to have a local anaesthetic which serves to numb your mouth so that you won’t feel any pain during the treatment.
