The Miracle of PRP: Regenerative Healing for Skin, Scalp, and Tendon
At Trinity Dental, our care goes beyond just smiles. We’re proud to offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy not only for dental procedures but also for skin rejuvenation, scalp health, and tendon repair. This natural, regenerative treatment harnesses your body’s own healing power to restore and revitalise from the inside out.
What Is PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy involves drawing a small amount of your blood, processing it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets, and then reinjecting that platelet-rich plasma to targeted areas. These platelets are rich in growth factors, which accelerate healing, boost collagen production, and stimulate tissue regeneration.
PRP for Skin
PRP is a popular treatment for natural facial rejuvenation—often referred to as the “vampire facial.” It helps:

PRP for Skin Health at Trinity Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
Improve skin tone and texture
Minimise scarring and pigmentation
Promote a more youthful, radiant complexion
PRP for Scalp
If you’re dealing with thinning hair or hair loss, PRP can act as a non-surgical alternative or be used in conjunction with transplant treatment. It has been successfully applied to those experiencing pattern baldness as well as thinning hair due to menopause. Applied to the scalp, PRP can:
Stimulate dormant hair follicles
Improve hair density and thickness
Slow hair loss in early stages
PRP for Tendons and Soft Tissue Injuries
Chronic tendon pain or inflammation? PRP is increasingly used in sports medicine and musculoskeletal therapy. Injected into problem areas, it can:
Support healing of injured tendons, ligaments, or joints
Reduce pain and inflammation
Promote tissue regeneration without the need for surgery
What is the Process of PRP at Trinity Dental?
To begin your PRP journey, it starts with a consultation to discuss your suitability for the treatment and the areas you would like to target. At your first appointment, a small sample of your blood will be taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP.
After topical numbing gel is applied, the PRP will be injected into the desired areas. For facial treatment, this is followed by micro-needling over the entire face to improve the penetration of the PRP.
Depending on the application of the PRP, a different schedule of treatment will be recommended. For skin and scalp, a series of 3 treatments over 3 months are recommended, followed by a maintenance schedule of 1 treatment every 6-12 months afterwards. For tendons, it is recommended that a course of 3 injections in weekly/fortnightly intervals is followed, but subsequent sessions dependant on the results thereafter.
